     More than 700 dedicated school aides, family paraprofessionals, parent coordinators and other support staff -- members of DC 37's Board of Education Local 372 -- are facing layoff by the NYC Dept. of Education. To see a video with details, click here.

     This will have a grave impact on schools and communities across our city. Children will suffer, public schools will suffer and communities will suffer needlessly because there is a better way. The city has wasted more than $1 billion on private contracts at the DOE and other city agencies -- money that could be used to stop these layoffs and keep valuable school support staff on the job.
