progressives get that Ayn Rand was an atheist, she proclaimed atheism many a time. "Faith is the worse curse of mankind, as the exact antithesis and enemy of thought." Ayn proclaimed. it is the religious right that conveniently sets this inconvenient truth aside.
Libertarians on the other hand get it. this is why they name their leading journal "REASON". libertarians too are selective: Rand supported abortion rights, opposed the the Viet Nam war, and was against the military draft.
what Libertarian's don't get is that in the end, Ayn Rand's own life proved her Objectivist philosophy to be a lie
you see, Ayn Rand, in the end rand was rejected and abandoned by her closest supporters and followers many describing objectivism as a cult.
in the end, dying from lung cancer Ayn Rand survived on Social Security and Medicare another inconvenient fact ignored by the likes of Alan Greenspan who attended Rand's funeral where an Giant flower arrangement, in the shape of a dollar sign, was placed on the casket].{ero}
